Kilkus Social Justice Fund

About the Kilkus Social Justice Fund

For her spouse Steve's memorial, Suzanne Kilkus listed Open Door Zen Community as one of the charities people could make a donation.  Almost $3000 was given at the time.  This generosity was and is greatly appreciated.  For the last several years, Open Door Zen Community has given donations from our general fund to a variety of local and state organizations as part of our commitment in support of social justice.  It is a way for us to be present as a dharma-focused community to the larger community.

The  $3000 in memorial donations gave a possibility for us to establish a fund specifically dedicated to social justice needs activities.  Suzanne requested the council to establish a fund for this purpose.  The name of it is the Kilkus Social Justice Fund - KSJF.
